Yesterday after work I went to watch Money No Enough 2 with Papa and Mummy. I reached surprisingly early (6.50p.m.) so I bought myself a Kiwi Gren Tea with pearls and treated myself with a visit to the loo before meeting them fashionably early. I reached the entrance of GV TM and there they are. We smile and wave happily as if we've never watched a family movie before. I have a suspicion that a fair bit of that excitement was credited to the movie being free.

We joked and laughed as we made our way up to our hall. Surprsingly, we were the first to arrive, That never happened before. We had a brief debate on whether we were in the right theatre or not, then settled back to listen to the 12 Lotus soundtrack that was being played as we chatted genially and commented on the 'Ji Ba Ban' song.

The movie was nice! Typical Jack Neo style, I think. Definitely equalling or bettering its prequel, unlike most sequels. Funny and touching and eyebrow-raising as always. Makes many of us shift guiltily in our seats while maintaining a neutral expression.

But it gets to the point. And digs at various parties are made blatantly obvious, so everyone understands and are able to laugh at themselves and others. Call me uncultured/unartistic/distasteful, but I just don't enjoy artsy films as much, no matter how many times I have tried appreciating them. I presume it leaves room for imagination and inference, but I do not much enjoy being left hanging to guess whether someone has died or not, or wondering what some mysterious flower petal falling dramatically to the floor signifies. :/

Going out with family is fun. Suddenly I can really relax and feel safe. No tissue paper/umbrella/plastic bag/plaster/panadol/water, just turn to the right. Want to eat curry puff/popcorn/apple pie/famous amos, turn to the left. No complaints. Ah. This is the life.
