I tried to post my Christmas photos but blogger didn't let me... -_-

Hmmmmmm....................

I've been spending te last few days doing NOTHING which surprisingly hasn't been boring. I had planned to go touring somewhere and made 3 plans all of which did not materialise due to a variety of reasons. Seeing as this phenomenon seemed suspiciously coincidental I decided not to resist the intentions of fate and stayed holed up in the comfort of Nixon.

I am liking alone time during such short breaks and holidays. Nice to have TV marathons and feel you brain go soggy (OK maybe not that part), wait for long-time-no-see family and friends to go online, chat until it is 2 a.m. in Singapore den go back to watching TV again. I have tried to draw again, without fantastic success. Dun have enough patience to see a drawing through to the end. And am still experimenting with different life forms. Perhaps I should go back to drawing cartoons.

During this break I attempted to springclean. Not such as bad attempt. I spent one day doing laundry, which was abit of a time-waster. I put in 40p for the dryer but the money-eating machine refused to believe me. Obviously, being the stingy and stubborn person that I am, I refused to feed it another 20p. Annoyingly, when I opened the dryer, the top layer of my laundry was deceptively dry so I innocently collected armfuls of clothes into my laundry basket and kept my spare 20p. When I really started sorting through them I found that I had indeed been outwitted by the dryer. It had conned me of 40p for 16 bloody min of half-hearted drying. So. I had to spend the day hanging my clothes all over the room, which made very slow progress and which made me waste the whole day on laundry. And I was watching TV. And baking. And watching 3 个好人.

The next day was more productive. Went to m'sons on retail therapy and bought a lot of nice and not very useful food. I meant to vacuum my room in the morning but I got distracted in the kitchen and spent the day clearing my kitchen cupboard and sorting out my plastics bags. Not that I'm trying to avoid the hard part of springcleaning. My plastic bag bag and plastic bag box were getting too big for their own good. Couldn't close my kitchen cupboard properly coz my plastic bag bag was too bulky.

Sorting out plastic bags is really rather therapeutic. Brought out my MP3 player and speakers, poured out my plastic bags onto the kitchen table and started sorting. For the whole afternoon. Ah bliss.

After that I finally plucked up enough determination to vacuum my room. Bloody carpet. Everything sticks onto it and gets tangled in it. How the bloody hell to vacuum? I run the vacuum cleaner over ONE spot about 50 times and it remains all holed up and cosy in the hairy carpet. Eventually I plucked out the broad head part and used the tube-sucker part instead, which was much more formidable but sucked up bits of carpet as well. Dammit. I hate machines.

Finished my cereal the next day and for some weird reason couldn't bring myself to throw away the spiderman box. I promised to go to queens rd to buy one of those nice artsy wrapping papers to prettify it abit and use it as a... rough paper box or smt. However, breakfast is the most importat meal of the day so I couldn't miss that. While eating might as well watch TV oso. Breakfast lasted me a good few hours by which time I had reasoned out that ang mohs won't be so hardworking and sure got 5-day week so the shop at queens might not be open and I shouldn't waste time walking there.

Purposely-accidentally checked my email today so I would miss any possible emails that training has started. 果然不出我所料 (heh pro right) training HAS started but that was yesterday so, aw man i missed it... Hahahahahhaa... So hypocrite...

Which brings me to where I am now, fretting about going to school AGAIN tmr. Sian. Dun like going to school. Like you have to do everything from start again. I am now one tenth my way though the course. Wow!

Ok fine. Should not sound so bitter. Be positive.

Hello. I'm back from my dong you ji cum marathon break. Now on to the second leg! I honestly dun remember ever taking so many photos. I promise to upload the few photos I take more regularly! Now I know the pain of spending hours trying to upload a few months worth of photos... Haha, pain. So drama.

Suddenly my font has swelled. I realise the previous few entried had pretty small words. Doesn't help that my screen is so small. Shall type bigger for Papa and Mummy to see. Haha so funny how when you become a parent that becomes your name. Papa Tay and Mummy Tay. Hahahahahahhaa...

These are the books I borrowed or bought from Cambridge. See? I'm not reading Harry Potter anymore! Though that is only because I did not bring them along. Ahh. The point is, I'm reading other books too. Howl's Moving Castle (borrowed from Shuang Ning)

The Artemis Fowl Files (2 pounds!)

Half Moon Investigations (1 pound!)

Inkspell (borrowed from Shuang Ning)

I notice my blanket is unecessarily distracting. I shall get a proper quilt with a cool cover one day. Maybe I can buy Paula or XY's for cheaper after we move into the new house seeing as they have double beds and mine is still single. ~Haa dun laugh at me for reading children's books. They are good for your brain. They promote imagination and creative thinking which so many people lack these days. Seriously. School projects are so freaking sian now. I remember in Primary school we got to do models, scrapbooks and charts. Then in Secondary school we had loads of presentations (at least in DHS) and we could be flexible in the way we wanted to present our projects. So fun thinking of ways to make presentations good yet funny so people will listen! JC became more like now where presentations must be serious and dry without an inkling of creativity in them. Being formal is good in its own way but I dun see why in Uni even for normal class presentations people dun dare or dun want or dun think of doing weird things like we did in Secondary school. Instead of "good morning. today my group and i are going to talk to you about... and now i will PASS ON to my next speaker, JJ... thank you for your kind attention" why can't we do a... talkshow or something? Haha "pass on" annoys me for some reason. Perhaps coz that was the exact phrase and format taught to us during one of those public speaking courses we had in Sec school.

Still remember when we had to do a chart for Bio in Sec 3 I was quite sian about just doing a chart and we came up with a tombstone chart with a monster taped to one of those bendy plastic rulers and taped him to the back. Den we used rubber band and bent the ruler back so he was hidden behind the chart. When we started the presentation we cut the rubber band and he sprung out of his grave. Coz he died of iron overdose. Haha those weird, serious-but-still-can-play kinda presentations were so fun!

Ok shall stop reminiscing about the past. Kinda makes me wish I could be in Sec school forever. Ah, the days when you could choose not to listen in class and pon and show parent letter, could somehow still vaguely understand lessons even though you dun listen, could still pia the night before tests and exams (and regret after prelims -_-), had ART AND CRAFT, home econs and DnT. Haha those were funny. I liked Tiger Tan art lessons. Okok fine. Shall stop. On to the next post!

Omg... I'm not gonna post any more Cambridge pictures... This is all I have been doing for the whole day. I must have missed some out but this is too tiring. Ok I'm not an IT person. See computer den sleepy. The only electronic gadget which doesn't have such a profound effect on me is the TV, which is one of the few reasons why I have grown to accept computers as well. The fireplace at the fudge maker place
A nice view of the sunset taken by tgo
Castle Mound (highest point in Cambridge)
A quaint-looking tree and an out-of-place dustbin or mailbox next to it
Another view atop Castle Mound
I tink I was on the boat at this point too
Still on the boat... Another nice shot taken by me! What can I say...
Definitely on the boat...
A view of mathematical bridge from the boat

A clock tower

I was frozen. Subsequent photos of me will thus, all have the same expression
I told you
This is a symmetrical Uni. Supposed to be perfectly symmetrical. The windows were kept shut all the time to conserve the symmetry. Students were punished for opening the window so they ran to the other side of the building to open the window symmetrical to it.
Still punting...

Still forzen...
My face is still Cushing's like
Ah, now my hands are stuck. Quite good service rite got pillows and quilts for us. Wonder whether they provide fans on the boats during summer. We pay so much they should lah.
Nice autumny view

The nice bridge. I tink it is the bredge of sighs. Got a picture taken from the inside of it in the first part of my trilogy.
Dunno where this came from. Ah well. Another nice building at Cambridge!

Me and Catherine. Probably at Trinity. Cannot remember. I tried to wear every single piece of clothing I brought coz my bag was too full already
Another nice autumn scene
And another one...
Back from puning! The canoers are just leaving. So cool.

Last min shot just when we were about to cross the bridge i'm guessing
One of those nice caslty Unis...
Punting... Taken on a BRIDGE at CAMBRDGE... Ok not funny
Another punting photo taken on the bridge...
Torture instruments! Wahaha... Fine. They are fudge-making tools
The fudge-maker making fudge... We got free fudge too! Not that we cheapskate. The guy at the counter was so enthusiatic about giving us free fresh fudge.. XD
I tink this might be King's.
Ok so I'm not a good tourist. I tink every building I take it King's. Seriously cannot remember.
One of those "you cannot step on the grass unless u are Somebody" Unis
Upclose of the same fountain
Wah lao. I look so niang.

Punting... Taken from another bridge... That is the mathematical bridge (haha i still remember something)... This professor built the bridge without using any rivets and the students were wondeing how he did it so they took the bridge apart and couldn't put it back and that is the end product. With rivets.
Another nice building...
Another nice lamp post...
Another nice ceiling...
Another nice archway...

An artistic photo of punting boats taken by the great one. Waiting for punting to start..
A faraway view from the punting dock. Nice architecture, nice trees, nice river...
An upclose view of the same picture... This photo is so well taken lah. How pro am I man...
More punting boats while waiting...
Finally got on the boat. That is (from left to right) the punter (who is younger than us but dun look like), me and catherine

Ok there is smt wrongwith the chronology of the pictures. Now I'm back at the dock waiting to get onto the boat again.
Haha another upclose view of the building opposite from the dock?
Another picture of the dock... Goes to show how long I waited to get onto the boat
A nice tree
A nice swan

Another punting place near Shuang Ning's hostel (kind of)... I'm standing on a quaint stone bridge taking typical view of cambridge (i tink)
Round church (which I have a postcard of)
The upright view of the round church
Oh crap. Again, I tink this is Kings.
The place where I can pay the same price for River Bungee in Singapore
I am on the boat now! This building is supposed to be inspired by a forest. The windows are supposed to be trees (the vertical lines are tree trunks and the horizontal parts are the canopy) and the rigid bit at the top of the building is supposed to be clouds. You need abit of imagination to visuaise trees and clouds as being rigid, rectangular and metallic.
2 black ppl.
The place I tink is Kings.
On the coach passing by London. That is Big Ben. Not the best view
An upclose of the place I tink is Kings
